Where Can I Find Kelly Green Clothing for St. Patrick’s Day?

The origin of the term Kelly Green is Americanized with its roots beginning in Ireland. Kelly is one of the most popular surnames in Ireland and Irish cloth producers developed a deep rich green fabric to replicate the color of their beloved Irish countryside. There is also a Kelly Green plaid which incorporates a single blue and light red pinstripe that can be used for a variety of projects from skirts to tablecloths. There are several Catholic schools in the East and the Midwest that require girls to wear plaid skirts in Kelly Green.

It is a fabulous color but it can be tricky to find. The color has fallen out of favor within the last several years for reasons unknown. That being said, if one were to do a search on the internet for Kelly green clothing, there are several sites to choose from, depending on what you are specifically looking for. However, most of the clothing was for sports related apparel hoodies, socks, t-shirts and accessories. Some of the sites include, Shopzilla, Nextag, Target and Shopstyle.

After checking three of these sites, I found that they do offer large size clothing and there are a select few that offer plus size clothing. Most of the clothing that I was able to find that wasn’t “sports themed” was classified as vintage or retro.

Again, it can be tricky to find, unlike LRG clothing which is easy to find, but it can be found. If you are handy with a sewing machine, you may give some thought to purchasing the cloth and pattern to make your very own Kelly Green clothing. Onlinefabricstore.net, Fashionfabricsclub.com, Denverfabrics.com, Sassyscrubs.com and Joann.com all offer Kelly Green fabric at very reasonable prices.

You final option would be to dye your own cloth. Shopzilla, Fineartstore.com, Thefind.com, Craftster.org and even Ebay have Kelly Green dye available.
